Scott V. Horne, Pastor
A native of Huntsville, AL, Scott grew up in Titusville, FL. Following a rebellious youth, Scott was radically saved at age 18 on September 12, 1981 when God, in His mercy, gave him the gift of faith and repentance. Soon after Scott's conversion, it became clear through his inclination and gifting, coupled with the wise counsel of godly mentors, that the Lord was calling him into the gospel ministry. After graduating from Auburn University, Scott served in college ministry at Christ Community Church in the metro Atlanta area prior to attending seminary. He received his Master of Divinity degree from Columbia International University in Columbia, SC. Prior to coming to Valdosta in 2012, Scott served PCA churches in Tulsa, OK, and Knoxville, TN. His interests include golf, tennis, basketball, SEC football, all things related to his beloved alma mater Auburn, yardwork, Civil War history, re-runs of Hawaii 5-0, Andy Griffith, and Columbo, and spending time with his family. Scott is married to the former Marian Lewis who grew up in Augusta, GA. Marian graduated from Agnes Scott College, and holds a Master's degree in Bible from Columbia International University. Having savored the privilege of being a stay-at-home mother for 32 years, Marian is now employed as the office manager of our local pregnancy resource center, Options Now. She also assists with church administrative tasks and music ministry. In her spare time she enjoys reading, writing, personal fitness, gardening, furniture restoration, and leading women in the study of God's Word. Scott and Marian are the parents of 5 adult children: Anna Katharine, Chase, Fielding, Elizabeth, and John.
